On January 27, the Global CIO Forum launched its first Unite CIO Meet, a part of its new initiative, Reboot. The theme of the first event held in UAE was work-life balance. GCF Reboot focuses on striking an equilibrium between four pillars: Wellness, Fitness, Nutrition & Engage. The CIOs not only got an opportunity to unwind but the event also served as a platform to build network.

Anshul Srivastav of Emirates Post said, “A CIO today is like a father-figure in the organisation. He has to run the company like a father does, meanwhile business has to understand how integral the role of a CIO is. Hence, it is very important that the strategic roles and priorities are set and the business gives them ample platforms to exercise their options.”

“As a professional, you always have two kinds of priorities, long-term and short-term,” said Nithin Geo Thomas of Amity University. “People often tend to think that long-term planning is priority, but planning for the short-term is key as that determines how rapidly you can standardise your work-life balance and act upon it.”

The event was held at Topgolf. Topgolf Entertainment Group is a technology-enabled global sports and entertainment community that connects people in meaningful ways through the experiences we create, the innovation we champion and the good that we do. What started as a simple idea to enhance the game of golf has grown into a movement where people from all walks of life connect at the intersection of technology and sports entertainment.
