The World CIO 200 Summit USA Gala Dinner
Intense discussions amidst fun networking
The USA Edition of the World CIO 200 Summit and Roadshow was held at the Capital Grill – Buckhead in Atlanta on 17th October 2019.
The Gala dinner, held in conjunction with the CIO networking session was attended by over 50 IT heads and decision makers in the country. The leaders engaged in some intense discussion on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of them. There was also an open forum to discuss the current technology and disruption landscape of the country and what responsibilities do the delegates shoulder, being the technology masterminds of their organization.
Derrick Louis – Executive Director of IS – RaceTrac Petroleum said, “The role of CIO has to evolve from technical to more business driven. With that being said, the I in CIO should stand for innovation – technology is just the tool we use to accomplish it.”

Shawn Stewart – Director of Agile Delivery – Cox Automotive said, “We should assign a dedicated percentage of overall capacity to KTLO(Keeping the Lights On). Along with that, ensure you factor technical Debt in your estimates.”

The World CIO 200 has successfully completed three roadshows (KSA, South Africa and USA) and will be touring 11 more countries in October and November before ringing in the Grand Finale in UAE to be held on December 9-10, 2019 at The Double Tree by Hilton Resort in Ras Al Khaimah.
