Project Director, Supreme Council of Health
Khaled Alkhalifa has spanned a career of almost 20 years in Healthcare IT. Working at the Royal Medical Services and King Hamad University Hospital as a CIO.
He oversaw both clinical and administrative systems as well as the underlying technical infrastructure.
He Holds a masters' degree in Software Engineering from George Washington University as well as a Master's in Business Administration from the university of Strathclyde.
Currently, he is project director at the Bahrain Supreme Council of health working as part of the team leading Healthcare transformation and the introduction of universal healthcare coverage (UHC) to the Kingdom. he is mainly tasked to lead the digital transformation entailed with the project including the establishment of the National Health Insurance Information System (NHIIS).
He is also assigned the establishment of the Health Information and Knowledge management Agency (HIKMA), the entity that will operated the UHC transformation. His research interests are around Data Science, analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
