Dhafer Saif Al-Kalbani is an experienced IT professional and senior manager . He currently serves as the Senior Manager caretaker / Manager IT Infrastructure Operation at Omantel, a position he has held since February 2022.
Dhafer has a strong educational background, holding a Master of Business Administration from Sultan Qaboos University (2010-2014) and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the same institution (1998-2003). He has also acquired numerous professional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Expert, Certified Digital Transformation Practitioner, and Certified Cloud Architect.
His career in IT spans over two decades, starting as a Network and System Administrator at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) from 2003 to 2008. He then moved to the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman, where he progressively took on more senior roles, including System Administrator, Internal IT Director, and Director of Innovation and Support Center.
From 2018 to 2022, Dhafer worked at the Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) as In Charge of Infrastructure Director General, where he was responsible for developing and executing IT infrastructure services strategy for various national-level projects.
Throughout his career, Dhafer has been involved in several significant projects, including the Government Cloud, Disaster Recovery Site for Gcloud and IT Services, Oman Government Network, Unified Operation Center Project, and the E-Oman government IT infrastructure.
Dhafer was also part of a select group of 40 candidates in the National Collaboration program for General Managers in Public and Private sectors from 2020 to 2023, demonstrating his leadership potential.
His expertise spans various areas of IT, including infrastructure management, cloud computing, network administration, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Dhafer's career trajectory shows a consistent progression towards more strategic and leadership-oriented roles in the IT sector, particularly within Oman's government and telecommunications industry.
