George Mensah is a 25-year IT veteran. I hold a Doctorate in Business Administration from Atlantic International University USA, an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Ghana University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from KNUST. I am a member of the Ghana Institute of Directors and a Chartered Banker (ACIB) from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana. I also hold a Corporate Governance and Digital Money certificate

George began his career at Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana as IT Service Standards Manager, Area Head of IT, Technology and Support Services Manager, and Head of Technology and Operations. He provided strategic leadership for IT Operations and used the Group standard operating model for all IT operations to guarantee operational excellence.

I was Head of Information Technology at Stanbic Bank, Ghana, providing technology services, and later became CIO of Standard Bank, Kampala driving the technology strategy agenda.

Stanbic's IT Department has strategic direction, operational efficiency, and leadership from me. Planning, organising, and coordinating all IT functions was my responsibility. I became Standard Bank Group Regional Chief Information Officer, West Africa, overseeing technology operations in Ghana, Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire, DRC, and Angola.

I then became Fidelity Bank Ghana's Group Chief Information Officer, developing and implementing IT solutions to help the bank compete in new ways. I prioritised technology as a competitive advantage and front- and back-office automation and efficiency.

George became Director of IT at Consolidated Bank Ghana, Ghana's second-largest bank, where he restructured IT to match with best practices, governance, innovation, DevOps, and business.

I'm the founder and CEO of Gevec, a consultancy firm that uses strategic vision, digital transformation, technology governance, operational excellence, leadership, and cutting-edge technology to improve customer experience in financial services, private, and public sectors.
